Valley Teen Clinic is a unique and important adolescent health care center that provides adolescents aged 12-19 with low/no cost primary care services, preventative care, and wellness education in a confidential, teen-sensitive environment. For more than 25 years, Valley Teen Clinic’s nationally recognized program has been operated by Valley Community Healthcare a private, non-profit network of community health centers that provides a full array of high quality, low-cost primary medical care and specialized health services to the residents of the San Fernando Valley.
Jill Halper, MD, a licensed Adolescent Medicine Specialist (one of only 900 in the United States), provides medical care and case management at the teen clinic, and is uniquely qualified to advocate and counsel teen patients through the many physical and emotional changes, and life challenges that arise during adolescence. The Teen Clinic Care Team is trained to assist adolescents as they transition from pediatric to adult health care services, and makes certain that they receive complete managed care in one place.
Connie Kruzan, Director, Adolescent Services trains and supervises Peer Providers to educate other teens in real life health issues and healthcare options. They are certified community health workers, who go through more than 100 hours of training to make sure that their clients receive clinically accurate information.
