Q: Will condoms protect me from all STDs?

Q: Can you get an STD from anal sex?
A: YES! You can get any STD from anal sex (sex in the butt hole) and can get all of them more easily because the anal skin is thinner, plus there is no natural lubrication in the anus making the anal skin easier to tear. That makes it very easy for the STDs to get inside the body faster. For people who engage in anal sex it is very important to use a water-based lubrication with a condom.
Q: Are all STDs curable?
A: NO! Only chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis can be cured, NOT Herpes, HPV (warts) or HIV.
Q: Do all STDs have symptoms?
A: NO! There are often no symptoms with chlamydia and gonorrhea, so people may have them and not know it. Sometimes HPV (warts) aren’t visible to the eye and herpes outbreaks may not be noticed.
Q: Can you catch an STD any other way without having sex?
A: Sometimes! *You can get herpes from kissing someone who has an outbreak on their lips, sharing lipstick or lip balm; *You can get HIV from breast milk, blood to blood contact like fighting, sharing needles for piercing, tattooing or to inject drugs or steroids, and tattooing with used needles. *Genital warts can be spread if someone with the infection wipes their genital area on a towel and another person immediately uses the same towel to wipe their genital area.
Q: Do birth control pills prevent STDs?
